Quickstart
Thanks for choosing our Etheryx theme! On this page, you'll find all the information you need to install and set up your new theme.
If you've already completed the initial setup, feel free to explore other topics using the navigation menu on the left.
Install theme
Here's how to get started with your new Etheryx theme:
- Visit the OpenThinking listing on the Shopify Theme Store.
- Select the Etheryx theme.
- Click Sign up to try or Add theme to install Etheryx to your store.
- After installation, the Etheryx theme will be available in your theme library, ready for customization.
Initial store setup
If you're new to Shopify and setting up your store for the first time, make sure to complete these initial setup steps before customizing your Etheryx theme.

Apps
To make sure your store works smoothly with your new theme, follow these steps to install the essential apps:
Search & Discovery by Shopify
This app is necessary for customizing your store's search results, filters, sorting options, and related product suggestions.
Translate & Adapt by Shopify
If you plan to use your Etheryx theme's multilingual functionalities, this app is needed. It helps you translate your store’s content and adjust it for different languages, making your store accessible to customers worldwide.
Subscriptions by Shopify Optional
If you plan to offer your customers subscriptions, this app is needed. It helps you manage your store's subscriptions and offers, making it easy for your customers to subscribe for recurring payments.
Shopify Email by Shopify Optional
If you plan to send marketing emails to your newsletter subscribers. To be used in combination with Etheryx's built-in newsletter signup form.
Shopify Bundles by Shopify Optional
If you plan to offer product bundles, you can create fixed bundles and multipacks directly from the Shopify admin. Customers can select from available variants associated with the products in the bundle.
Menus
Follow these steps to add or edit items in your Shopify navigation menu:
Create menu
- From your Shopify admin, go to
Content → Menus
. - On the Menus page, click the title of the menu you want to edit.
- Click Add menu item.
- Enter a name for the menu item.
This name displays in the menu and can include special characters or emojis.
- In the Search or paste a link field:
Enter a website address for an external link, or select a link type (e.g., Products, Pages, etc.).
- If you select a specific collection, you can filter the collection by tags to display only products that match those tags.
- If you select a link type:
Choose a specific destination (e.g., a product, page, or the home page).
- If a destination is selected, the Name field will auto-fill with the destination’s name (e.g., product or page title) unless you’ve already entered a name.
- Click Add to include the menu item.
- Click Save

Pages
Etheryx comes with beautifully designed layouts for popular pages like Contact, About, and FAQs. Here’s how to create and set them up:
Create a new page
- From your Shopify admin, go to
Online Store → Themes → Pages
. - Click Add a page
- Enter a Title and a Short description for the page.
- Under Template, select the one that fits your page, such as
page.about
orpage.contact
. - Click Save
- From your Shopify admin, go to
Add content to the page
- From your Shopify admin, go to
Online Store → Themes
. - Find Etheryx and click Customize
- Navigate to the page you just created (e.g., About).
- In the Sections panel on the left, click on the page’s name (e.g., About page).
- Add your content and details in the editor.
- Click Save

Add page to navigation
Even though your page is now live, it won’t automatically appear in your store’s navigation. To add it to your menu:
- Go to
Online Store → Navigation
. - Select the menu where you want the page link to appear (e.g., Main Menu).
- Add a link to the new page.
- Click Save

Filters
Filters help your customers refine the products they see on collection pages and in search results. Here's how to set them up:
- Open the Shopify Search & Discovery app.
- Go to
Filters
and click Edit filters - Choose the filters you want to make available for your customers.
- Click and drag the filters to arrange them in your preferred order. Optional
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Translations
If you plan to use the multilingual features of your Etheryx theme, follow these steps to set up translations and provide a seamless shopping experience for customers in their preferred language.
Publish languages
- Go to
Settings → Languages
in your Shopify admin. - Click Add Language
- Choose a language from the dropdown menu and click Add
- In the Unpublished languages section, click Publish next to the language you want to make available.
- Click Save

Assign languages to a market
By default, each new market uses your store’s primary language. Assign newly published languages to a market to make them visible to visitors.
- Go to
Settings → Languages
in your Shopify admin. - Click ••• (three dots) next to the language you want to assign.
- Then click Assign to market
- Once you've finished, click Done
- Go to
Add a language selector
To allow customers to switch languages or countries, you need to add the Selectors block to your store's Sub-footer section:
- Go to
Online Store → Themes
in your Shopify admin. - Click Customize
- Scroll to the Bottom bar section.
- Click the (+) button and select Selectors block.
- Click Save
- Go to
Translate your store’s content
Now, you can translate your store's content into the languages you want to offer. To do this you can use the Translate & Adapt app. For a detailed step-by-step guide, visit Shopify’s official guide: Set up "Translate & Adapt" app.

RTL support
Etheryx recognizes RTL languages automatically and has been adapted to work with RTL languages to some extent.
IMPORTANT
However, we cannot guarantee full compatibility or that everything will display properly in RTL. Additional code changes may be needed from a third-party developer.
WARNING
We do not provide technical support for any problems that may be encountered in RTL languages.
We welcome feedback on RTL language functionality in order to improve support in future updates. However, full RTL support is not guaranteed or part of our official roadmap at this time. Use RTL languages at your own risk.
