Backup your theme

Before customizing your theme, it’s a good idea to create a backup copy. This ensures that you can easily discard your changes and start fresh if needed.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
2. Locate the theme you want to back up and click the ••• button to open the actions menu.
3. Click Duplicate

A new copy of your theme is now created in an unpublished state ready for customization.
