Blog

Your Shopify online store includes a built-in blogging engine, which helps improve SEO, grow your audience, and drive more traffic and sales. A blog can also build a community around your products and brand.

Blog posts allow you to provide insights into your store and products in a conversational tone, offering more flexibility than product listings or emails.

Blog posts can drive traffic to your store in the following ways:

  • Improve SEO – Help your store rank higher in search engine results.
  • Tell stories that convert – Engage visitors and turn them into customers.
  • Increase customer engagement – Build a loyal audience.

Add a Blog

Your store includes a default blog called News. You can edit this blog or create additional blogs.

Steps

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Content → Blog posts.

  2. Click Manage blogs

  3. Click Add blog

  4. Enter a title and select a comment management option.

    • Optional - If you have a custom template, select it from the Template drop-down menu.
    • Optional - Edit the search engine listing details.
  5. ClickSave

Add a Blog Post

You can create a blog post with images, links, tables, and embedded media using the rich text editor. Blog posts are hidden by default and only appear on your store once published. You can edit, hide, or delete posts anytime.

Steps

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Content → Blog posts

  2. Click Add blog post

  3. Enter a title - required

  4. Add your content in the editor.

  5. In the Organization section, configure:

    • Author: Select the store owner or a staff member.
    • Blog: Choose an existing blog or create a new one.
  6. OPTIONAL

    • Add an image for the blog landing page.

    • Include an excerpt for the blog landing page.

    • Add tags to categorize the post.

    • Apply a custom theme template:

      • In the Online store section, open the Theme template dropdown.
      • Select a template.
    • Edit the search engine listing.

  7. In the Visibility section, choose when to publish:

    • Select Visible to publish immediately.
    • Click the calendar icon to schedule a date and time.
  8. Click Save
